No more wet, muddy shake-off or wet dog smell!
Labradors come from the working dog class and are known for being a multi-talented, loyal companions. They're also famous as assistance dogs, particularly as guide dogs for the visually impaired.
Dogrobes, Snoods and Gauntlets are made from our innovative, super-absorbent towelling - designed for quick drying, warmth and comfort. Built for active Labs and proudly Made in Britain.
Dogrobes for Labradors
Dogrobes were made for Labradors! The very first dog drying coat was designed in 2004 by Ann Playle, inspired by her love for her eight working Labradors! Every Dogrobe is designed to be simple to use, easy to tie and made to last.
Labradors have thick, double coats that hold water, so they benefit from Dogrobes’ clever 3-in-1 design - drying, warming and comforting in around 30 minutes. Our exclusive dual-loop cotton towelling draws moisture fast and traps body heat to speed up drying time.
Many Labrador owners love the Original Dogrobe for its simplicity and ease of use. It’s ideal if your Lab doesn’t tend to hold much water on their chest and you want quick, effective drying after walks or swims.
Others prefer the Dogrobe MAX, especially if their Labrador gets really wet underneath or has a broader chest. The MAX’s shaped chest panel and shoulder darts give extra coverage and freedom of movement - perfect for those splash-loving, strong-built Labs.
For something a little special, our Exclusive Collection combines the same outstanding performance as the Original Dogrobe with stylish, limited-edition patterns.
Years of experience have gone into perfecting the Dogrobes' design - that's why they're known as the ultimate 3-in-1 dog drying towel. Proudly made in Britain, Dogrobes also supports dog charities with every online sale.
Finishing Touches
Some dogs wear a harness, so our optional Harness Access Opening lets you dry your dog easily without removing their harness on the journey home. The discreet opening sits at the top of the Dogrobe, giving quick access to the ‘D’ ring. It's available on Original and Exclusive Dogrobes.
You can also add personalisation with your dog’s name - a thoughtful touch for gifts or multi-dog households.
How to Measure Your Dog for a Dogrobe
Dogrobes are generously sized and made to last, so take a little time to measure your Labrador carefully for a perfect fit that’ll keep them cosy for years.
The same sizing applies across all three styles - Original, Exclusive and MAX.
- Measure Girth - around the deepest part of the chest
- Measure Back Length - from collar to base of tail
The girth is the key measurement. Your dog’s collar-to-tail length should usually be a few inches shorter than the girth - that’s perfect! The extra length drapes over the hindquarters to dry the back legs.
Which Size Dogrobe for a Labrador?
After measuring check the breed size guide below to find the best fit.
Size up if your dog is between sizes or their girth matches or is smaller than their back length.

Which Size Snood for a Labrador?
Snoods are great for drying your Labrador’s head, neck and ears. They also add warmth and help muffle loud noises for sound-sensitive dogs.
Made from the same super-absorbent, lightweight dual-loop cotton towelling as Dogrobes, Snoods come in nine sizes and every colour to match your dog’s drying coat.
To measure for a Snood loop a soft tape around the widest part of your dog’s head (including the ears) to find the top circumference. This ensures the Snood can slide on and off comfortably.
Labrador-sized Snoods
Labradors usually follow the general Snood sizing rules:
- Hood fit (over head/ears): size down from usual Dogrobe size
- Neck buff fit (around the neck): choose the same size as your Dogrobe
- If your dog sized up in their Dogrobe for girth, choose the breed example Snood size rather than matching the Dogrobe size and size down to wear like a hood
Bitches from working stock who wear a Medium Dogrobe will usually need a Small Snood, while standard male Labradors wearing a Large Dogrobe will often need a Medium Snood.
Please note the following breed size examples are guides only. Measuring your own dog ensures the best fit.

Labrador Puppy Growth
Puppies grow quickly so we recommend waiting until your Labrador is mature before buying a Dogrobe.
The Labrador is a moderately fast maturing breed, reaching adult height from six to 12 months. But they could still be filling out at up to two years old.
That’s why Dogrobes’ clever tie design is so practical - it adjusts easily as your dog fills out and gives a comfortable, secure fit at every stage. Unlike Velcro fastenings our ties last longer, won’t clog with fur and ensure your Dogrobe stands the test of time.
In the meantime, our Gauntlets help pups get used to gentle drying. They’ll still be a key part of your drying kit when your dog’s fully grown - perfect for drying legs and paws. No more muddy paw prints!
