This was always going to be an ambitious project and it didn't disappoint!
The canine celebrities arrive on location
Our vision for the landing page of our new Dogrobes' website was to have an image of as many dogs as possible on the beach in a group shot, wearing their Dogrobes and Snoods. It was a great idea but the execution was a hilarious challenge.
After weeks of planning, the entire posse of dogs and their owners – our valued customers and friends - journeyed to the shoot location early on a Sunday morning and bounded onto Roseisle beach. We picked this location because of the beautiful stretch of sandy beach in this spectacular area of Scottish coastline. Thankfully the weather was kind to us and it felt very special meeting up with so many friends, while watching the dogs have fun in the water together.
We met a handsome Deerhound who just happened to be on the beach and was very keen to take part in our shoot. How could we refuse the gorgeous Mr C?
Psst…Don't tell Missie, but we actually got to the end of the shoot and realised that we'd forgotten to include her! We soon rectified that though. 'DIVA DOG' would not have been impressed to have been excluded.
The wardrobe for the shoot
The stars of the show were dressed in towelling drying robes from the large range of bright, bold and playful colours in our Dogrobes dog drying coat collection. These long-looped towelling dog robes are easy to pull over the head, tie neatly around the body and thanks to the lightweight fabric, are easy to handle, even with the wriggliest dog. This makes them perfect for post-beach photoshoots and other outdoor adventures.
Visitors to the beach watched with amusement, as we attempted the shot, while our supermodels ran and chased each other or wandered pensively through the sand and sea water. We’re pretty sure the onlookers were simply admiring the doggos’ strikingly creative, colourful, yet functional attire.
We realised early on that it was going to be nigh-on impossible to get all 55 dogs to sit or stand at the same time, so we opted to take group shots and edit the image together.
And the Oscar goes to...
...our photographer, Robbie Simpson from Isla Brig Images, who was an absolute star. Despite growing a few grey hairs, he successfully provided us with the end result that we'd envisaged. We're delighted with the shot and can only thank all our wonderful friends and customers for taking part. Your patience in waiting to see the image on our new website is greatly appreciated.
We hope you love the shot as much as we do!
