The Dogrobe is one very special piece of dog care kit and once you’ve discovered the many features and benefits in this one single garment, you’ll never go back to the various items you used to use to perform the same doggie-related activities.
Revolutionising towel-drying your dog
Until Dogrobes drying robes were invented for wrapping dogs in fast-drying towelling after a rainy walk or after bath-time, it was normal to use an old bath-towel which had outlasted its usefulness in the bathroom. However, when you're trying to encourage your dog to be dried after a bath or walk, waving a towel at them can be counter-productive, as they react in different ways. Maybe they run from it in fear; perhaps they think it's a great game and snatch at the towel, misinterpreting your surprise as joining in the fun. Alternatively, they see the towel coming and run before you can bring an end to walkies! The other inconvenience with a bath-towel, is that we rub the dog's fur for a few minutes and then wonder why they're still wet an hour later.
What your dog really needs
As dogs have fur covering their body, rubbing them with short-looped towelling won’t actually dry the skin beneath the fur. The water is trapped between the skin and the hairs and no matter how often you use your bath sheet to rub them, they won’t dry.
The Dogrobes drying coat, however, is very smart. It has long towelling loops, which allow sufficient space for air to become trapped between the skin and the fur. And because your dog has been exercising or wriggling like a fish in the bath, they’ll be nice and warm. Warm air, trapped deep down inside your dog’s coat, will dry their coat without the need to ruffle their fur at all. Furthermore, your dog can keep the Dogrobe on for a good half an hour, meaning they get to rest and nap, while the Dogrobe does the work.
What you need from your dog's drying coat
The Dogrobes drying coat is super-easy to pull over your dog’s head because the opening is nice and wide. As the head section is a separate Snood (which also has multiple functions when used alone), there is no need to battle with your dog for supremacy over the coat – they're wearing it before they realise!
Not only is it lying neatly over their back in no time, there's also no noisy or sticky Velcro pad to catch their attention or scare them either. Simply take the elegant belt and tie it comfortably around their torso and they'll be ready for a comfortable, warm and drying snooze.
A comforting hug in a robe
Many customers have shared feedback with us, giving countless examples of times when the Dogrobe has helped calm their nervous or anxious dog when used as a comfort coat. We wanted to share this useful advice with everyone. Our vet explains the theory behind the concept:
"Gentle pressure around a dog's chest acts like soothing swaddling, reducing anxiety. The Dogrobe, should be wrapped and tied closely around the dog's torso creating a constant but gentle pressure, creating an overall calming effect. The Dogrobe can stay like this on the dog for up to 2-3 hours."
What else does the Dogrobes drying coat do?
How many towels do you go through a week? When it’s rainy, times that by a hundred! The beauty of the Dogrobes coat is that it can be pulled onto your dog as soon as walkies is over and they're jumping into the car like a good dog. No need to watch as they shake and shake, spattering muddy spots all over your car or kitchen floor - your environment is protected from dirty mess and so are you!
If you also have the Dogrobes Gauntlets, you can quickly rinse their feet and then dry them in a flash, before they wander triumphantly over the carpets with muddy feet. The crowning glory – quite literally – is the matching Dogrobes Snood. Pull this over their head and ears and they can dream of chasing squirrels, while their whole fur dries quickly and comfortably. And no clean up in the house or car.
It’s worth mentioning that the towelling fabric is intentionally designed to be lightweight. By steering clear of heavy human-grade towelling bathsheets, the Dogrobes coat is easier to handle while in use, which is a huge bonus when handling excitable pups after their walk. On top of this, the lighter towelling is easier and quicker to wash, saving energy, and dries more quickly too. What’s not to love?
Did we mention the harness access opening? This handy slit sewn into the top of the Dogrobe means you can access the harness 'D' ring to fix the lead in place. Now you can secure your dog in the car and they can dry off safely on the journey home.
In a range of gorgeous designs and colours that pop, these Dogrobes drying coats are not just clever, but beautiful too.
